Conservation of natural resources is essential if we expect to perpetuate the basic necessities of our society. Based upon constructive cooperation, active conservation programs require communication among all interested groups, persons, and agencies. The widest possible public participation is viewed as the soundest base for protecting and enriching the environment.

In one respect, every natural area has a common uniqueness - it takes everyone forever to preserve it, but one person and one time to destroy it.

                               - Koestner

NRCC was founded in 1949 as a Statewide organization to educate the Public concerning the need to protect the natural resources of Connecticut.

We in Connecticut have a unique state; It is more crowded than most, richer than most, more urbanized than most and yet wilder than most. The quick alternation of town, farm, forest, and water is a pleasure and a stimulation to all of us.

                                   - Josephy

NRCC is a statewide organization in which all interested in the environment may join.

The Council strives for a diverse membership. It welcomes as members conservation organizations, labor groups, industries, utilities, business concerns, educational and sportsmen's groups, urban environmentalists, and all interested individuals.

The Council needs your help in protecting our Natural resources. The Council depends on the financial support of its members to carry on its successful educational conferences.

We believe that it is our responsibility to dedicate the council to the protection of the environment in which we live.
